About our hand embroidered kurtas
A kurta carries the whole outfit, and the embroidery is what makes it yours. Every Zauq kurta is embroidered by hand, so the motifs are placed one thread at a time instead of being printed or run through a machine. You can see it at the neckline, the cuffs and the panels, where each stitch has a slightly human rhythm that machine work does not have.
Some people call the same piece a kurti or a kameez. In everyday Pakistani use the words overlap: a kurta usually runs longer, a kurti is often shorter and more fitted, and a kameez is the shirt that traditionally pairs with a shalwar. If you are not sure which cut you want, our kurta vs kurti vs kameez guide explains the differences in plain words.
Every product page lists the fabric, the colour and the embroidery, so you know what you are buying before you add it to your cart. Where we have them, you will find lawn and cotton silk kurtas, which suit different seasons and different occasions. A hand embroidered kurta works as a quiet everyday shirt or as the centre of a dressed-up look, depending on what you wear with it.
Pair a kurta with our embroidered trousers for a calm, put-together outfit, or choose a kurta set if you would like both pieces chosen for each other. Not sure how to wear it? Our guide to styling an embroidered kurta has simple ideas for day and evening.
Sizes, care and delivery
We make our kurtas in small, medium and large. The size guide shows how to measure yourself at home, and if you are between two sizes you can message us on WhatsApp and we will help you choose. Embroidered pieces need a little care, so read the care guide before the first wash and your kurta will stay beautiful for much longer.
We deliver across Pakistan, and you can pay by cash on delivery when you order. If a size does not work, you can exchange it within the exchange window described on our delivery and exchange page. Zauq is the official store for these kurtas, so if you see a similar piece elsewhere, check that the page is zauqofficial.com.
